Transferring to a Four Year College

The most important thing as a transfer student is to relax. All the work (which is different for each university and their system) you’ll need to do to make sure you transfer to a good university will be stressful. There are plenty of sources you should use, such as counselors, tutorials, and comment boards online, that will help you navigate through the application process. The hard part is deciding which university you really want to go to, and then waiting to hear back from the places you applied to. The time spent just waiting will be gut wrenching. Time will move slower and faster at the same time. You’ll receive some emails here and there throughout the process, though that’s usually just to tease you. Don’t worry though, your hard work will pay off eventually. Even if you don’t end up going to the same place you initially thought you would end up at. You might have a hard choice to make between a few universities if you applied to more than one. However, ultimately, your future career and life won’t be hindered if you go to a different university than you expected. If you work hard and spend your time wisely after transferring, it won’t matter as much which university you ended up at.
